HOT ROLLED STEEL COIL

Hot-rolled coils are made of semi-finished products, reduced to a certain thickness by rolling and annealing, and wound into coils. Hot rolled steel is used to manufacture pipes, steel doors and storage tanks, or further processed into cold rolled steel.

COLD ROLLED STEEL COIL

By "pickling" the hot-rolled sheet in a weak acid solution, then cleaning, brushing, drying, oiling and spreading the sheet, and finally cold-rolling the sheet by passing it through a reducing mill under pressure and winding it into a coil, rust is removed from the hot-rolled sheet, thus producing a cold-rolled sheet in the form of a coil. Cold-rolled steel is a product with higher processing degree, with smoother surface, higher dimensional accuracy (thickness, width and length) and higher strength. Many cold-rolled steels are used in the automobile industry, but some are also used to make household goods.

Difference between stainless steel and carbon steel

The difference between stainless steel and carbon steel is that they contain chromium and in some cases nickel. Chromium is added to carbon steel to make it more rust-proof and pollution-resistant. When nickel is added to chromium stainless steel, it enhances mechanical properties, such as density, heat capacity and strength. For example, stainless steel plates are used to make machines, tools and containers.
